We firmly believe that Christians, regardless of their origin, should have the opportunity to attend Mass, both in person and digitally when necessary. Our mission took shape when the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) posed a simple question to Michael McManus:

<blockquote>"How can we present the Catholic Church on television?"</blockquote>

In March of 1998, a tradition began as Bishop John Sherlock, the inaugural Chair of the National Catholic Broadcasting Council (NCBC), celebrated Mass at St. Michael's Cathedral and broadcasted it nationwide.

Our purpose is clear...

Pope Francis declared that the Mass is the very core of our salvation. Since 1988, the National Catholic Broadcasting Council has been connecting Catholics through the profound mystery that is the Daily TV Mass. With the invaluable support of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) and under the guidance of the late Bishop John Sherlock, our founding Executive Director Michael McManus collaborated with a team to bring daily Mass to television, reaching Catholics across Canada.

With the advent of the internet, the reach of the Daily TV Mass has now expanded worldwide, and our commitment continues to be building a connected community of faithful individuals. The Daily TV Mass keeps tens of thousands of devout Catholics connected to our faith and community.
